On the house

This was not my idea. My friend, Brad, expressed an interest in being able to live vicariously through my road trip. It would be easier to do this, he (more or less) said, if everyone had the option to donate $5 for a coffee here, or $10 for a dinner there, complete with a suggestion for said donation. Example: “Here’s $3.95. When you’re in Athens, Ga., go have a stout at The Globe,” or something like that. Not that I drink stout.

Seriously, though. This was not my idea. When he mentioned it, I said I would think about it. I did. Then I told some other people and they agreed that it was a good idea, so I am trying it out. I mean, it’s not a bad idea; right?

But really, if you’re sitting here looking at my Donate button and trying to choose between buying me an iced mocha and sponsoring an orphan in Haiti, by all means, choose the latter. Please. I mean it.
